Really depends on where you live, time of year etc. I'd check it every 10k.

I live in an area that we'll just say it gets damp outside. Actually it fricken poors!! So alot of road grime gets spit up from the other traffic and I clean mine every oil change. (3K miles). Just a habit. But it does get dirty in that amount of time. It does a great job of filtering and the back side is always clean.

Wanted to dress front of it up a little bit. I wanted to put "SUCK IT!" on the front, but the Vararam really doesn't suck air. So I went with "RAM IT!" in a metallic dark red that I sanded until it faded a bit. Looks really cool in the sun.

Made the engine cover myself as well....

Just a thought but, if you rotate the coupler 90 degrees to the right, where the hole is now on the side and run a long enough hose, you can run it under the throttle body and insert it on the side, eliminating the tube from sticking off the top. I think it would complement your setup.

That's the plan.....

It may get done sooner than later....my car will be in the Houston Corvette/Chevy Show next weekend (with about 25-30 other Camaros from the H-Town Camaro Club).

Hey I have a question. I just got one thinking it was a cold air intake but obviously it is not. What do you guys recommend, should I get the vararam intake or a regular cold air intake? I personally like the appearance of the cold air intakes a lot better. Thanks

Your asking a question that's been asked a million times. Pick an intake and done. You will get like 101 different answers on here.
My personal Faveraite would be this vararam if you have. 2010/11 if you have a 2012 and up go New Era OTR intake which I also run.

I'm bought one for a good deal but thinking about trading for a regular cold air intake. Yes it's old news but I am asking what people like about their vararam? Would you keep it or get a regular k&n cold air intake?

Can't beat that! Also if its "to red" our intakes come in a verity different colors and finishes to fit your taste. You can order it just how you want it, so no need to break out the rattle can here! Glad you we able to post an actual experience and a side by side comparison by having owned both rather that just speculating like I've seen on C5 time and time again.

I don't sell air intake systems, but there's a reason why I have the Vararam system on my Corvette and Camaro
