The 2SS was the only car for me. You might be different, the V-6 just might be the right car for you. It's all in what your heart tells you to do.

Just be honest with yourself, unless your going to the Track the V8 is useless, heck the V6 useless, Almost no person here has probably gotten anywhere near using the power of the V6, let alone the V8. I mean CMON, 312, 426 really? Reaching 100 mph between 12-14 seconds.

Honestly I believe for non racers the V8 is a talking point or a ego booster nothing more.

People gave me crap about buying a V6, considering I race sportbikes. I chose a V6 for several reasons. It is less expensive: gas, insurance and initial cost. I have a 15 year old son who will be driving the Camaro next year and I really didn't want him in a SS. Buy what you want and what works for you.

+1

The V6 is no slouch when it comes to acceleration and speed...

I would be in SERIOUS trouble with the V8...

The HP with the V6 is more than the 2010 Mustang V8 had....

If you are torn, then go test drive them both and make your decision...

But, like the person above me said, there is the extra costs for insurance, premium gas, and the price of the car to consider too...

Good luck, whatever you decide...

Bottom line: we all own CAMAROS, whatever the engine size...

To be brutal honest even with the V6 and the laws of the land you can't have any fun most of the time. Fun quick cars like the new camaro you feel handcuffed with the low speed limits. Drives me nuts.

I'm considering a 2LT vette vs the 2SS Camaro...talk about a dilemma.

I think you have to see, drive, and think about what each cost then make the call.

Its not the speed. It's the sound, the feeling and of the enormous power the LS3 puts out that makes it an absolute necessity.

Wait.

Save.

Once inside a 400 + hp and tq car you are totally intoxicated, elated, satisfied, infatuated, and every other good feeling you could possibly experience as a living being. You feel like the Bill Gates of the road knowing that there are few cars that can even come close. (This is for any car...could be a Stang or Charger).

You will never second guess the decision to buy a V8 muscle car with muscle. Most cars need to be modded to be faster.

Drive them both... I was going the get an SS until I drove the LT(M6).
I'm more than happy with my V6 and now my car payment isn't as bad as it could have been.

My advice to anyone starting out is not to buy more car than you can afford, including insurance, fuel, maintenance (warranties are not forever, and probably will expire before the car is paid for), etc.

The jump from a $24,000 car to a $40,000 car is significant until you have saved enough money not to even have to take out a loan.

I would by an LS or LT, and be satisfied with driving a new car, under warranty, and save the rest for the next car.

300HP is plenty for the street. When you get up to 400 and 500 HP, there are few situations where it can be used. I had the money to get the SS, and opted for the V6.
