Scrming has proven many things that are not noraml to this engine over the past 18 months. That is why he has been linked to being the POPE and the KING. Many of us here what he says and has done for the V6 community.

Items he has found out about this V6:

1. High Octane fuel is a must to produce all possible HP.
2. The incoming air temp. must be as low as possible when read by the MAF sensor because the IAT is located in the same controller
3. This engine likes to run rich not lean.
4. When making runs on a dyno, no reason to let the engine cool down first, the hotter the better (to a point).

Scrming I am sure I have missed a few please fill in any others.

These items were all proven out on the dyno and dragstrip.

Again many Thanks to Scrming and his dedication to finding the most HP for the V6.

IGNORE THEM they are looking for the attention. Or another way to say it don't feed the TROLLS.
I had always figured the "Ignore List" feature in the User CP was to ignore private messages. All my searches didn't turn up anything definitive, so I tried it today. It block the content of posts by people on your list. I only see one downside -- you may get the "Read the T(h)read" smiley. I figure I'll just reply that I read all posts from people not on my Ignore List!

I'm now ignoring 6 users (I think you know who you are)

Lots of posts about this but basically the higher octane means a slower burn which means have less combustion happening. Some cars are designed for less combustion as they are pushing out more power per combustion. Putting 91 in a car designed specifically for 87 means you are putting out higher power per combustion but you now have less combustions happening which means the over all power is lessoned. GM spent a lot of money over the years designing this motor, and if they felt there was a performance increase they would recommend higher octane. I doesn't hurt the car to do it, just you are taking a performance hit. Now a car designed for higher octane should never have a lower octane in it, not only does it decrease performance but it also can harm the motor.
air is thinner up here too, the notice is substantially less. finding a way to draw more air into the motor ftw...
