Your Biggest Mistake Modding?

Ok - So I just screwed up - documented here

Perhaps I can help others avoid my mistake by posting my story. It is also a bit of group therapy for myself by sharing this with you in the Camaro5 community. This is really the only place I can talk about it because none of my friends IRL really get it and my wife is tired of listening to me talk about my car.

Maybe we can help other if you all share your biggest mistake while modding or upgrading your cars. What mistakes have you made that ended up costing you a lot more money or time or both?

I think the list of parts in your signature would be a great place to start.

I did a muffler delete and added 5 inch resonator tips to a V6. They were replaced after 2 weeks.

My biggest mistake on my car was also shifter related. I was installing the allen screws in the hurst from the bottom and completely stripped out the head. Not a big deal as long as I never have to remove it.

biggest mistake on someone elses car... My first front sway bar install I fought for over an hour an hour and got it wedged in to where it wouldn't budge. That's when I realized it was upside down. had to raise the engine a hair and remove several front suspension pieces to get it out. Needless to say it was cake to install after!!

I read your other thread... they are screwing you. If its just a screw in selonoid, that's an easy job and could be done in your driveway. Removing the exhaust is cake and I lowered my tranny to install the hurst. Plus it would be a perfect opportunity to switch your tranny fluid to Mobil 1 ATF!

Taking a week and buying three different tool kits to install my exhaust myself. Probably would have cost the same to just pay someone else to install it.

That front bar was a pita for me and I had it the right way from the beggining. I should have just lifted the engine on its mouhnts. May have been enough to make it easier.

Just curious what was the reason you replaced them after 2 weeks?

No mistakes at all with my mods, I have the JRE Street package and it is awesome, I can't wait to do more mods when this Blizzard filled Winter is over.
