Tried the search couldn't find something accurate. What is the purpose of a fuse pull?

If you put lower octane gas in the SS the computer will set the octane tables to low octane and retard the timing to avoid the engine knock.

It can run on low octane but not as well. You lose power and overall probably isn't good. If you fill up with 93 the computer will not reset to the high octane table so you need to do a fuse pull. in the 10 & 11 you need to pull out fuse #5 & #20 under the hood and leave them out at least several hours or overnight. Pop them back in and the computer will relearn and reset to high octane tables. It does work.

Is this viable for a 2012 V6? I am using 91 octane fuel.

Definitely works! I use only 91 highest possible to me and I did a Fuse pull lat night after I noticed it running sluggish. GM denies it does anything.... They are retarded and should have fixed it

now this fuse pull would most likely only benefit a stock L99 or LS3? I would think that any performance shop would take care of the timing with the custom tune, correct?

A tune can void your warranty though. Easier to do the fuse pull. It does work, I got more power and better mpg in my '11 L99 and the hubby got better mpg in his '10 LS3.

I'm on my 2nd tank after the dealer told me they put low grade fuel in

Am I at a point where I can pull the fuse yet? Gone through 1 tank of 87 or whatever shit they put in, filled with 93, ate through that- now filled up again with 93.

Can anyone confirm if the 2012's have the same fuses to pull?

Thnx!
