IOM paint question...
Is the IOM paint a 2 stage (color then clear) or a 3 stage (color, metallic flake, then clear) process?
I had a little run in with some tread from an 18 wheeler tire on day two of the Disney World/Universal Studios vacation with the GF, and long story short I need a new front bumper and some metal work done on my front drivers side fender. Had an insurance adjuster look at it already and listed the paint as a two stage, and mentioned that the body shop may have to repaint part of my hood and door that are undamaged to blend in any color differences between the old and new paint. So needless to say some red flags are going up. And before anyone posts , pics will be posted later as we have only been home for about half an hour.

Is the paint blending deal common?
I would assume with paint codes that the paint should be the same color as the original coat from the factory.. |

yes, paint blending is common. unless you want to repaint the entire car it is the only way to avoid having one panel look like a different color than the rest of the car.
