Sure you want to order the Hurst shifter? I was about to do that but decided not to because 1) MGW aftermarket short shift kit is a better option IMO 2) production delays to orders with the Hurst option.

there are no production delays with the Hurst option now as its off hold. Also, its opinion the MGW is a better option than Hurst. Obviously GM feels the Hurst is a better option.Again, their opinion but that's what they went with. Go with the Hurst, you will love it. The O.E option is VERY smooth as compared to the aftermarket offering which is more designed as a "race style" shifter

OK OK let's settle down. Really it's all been said. Your only "options" are the trunk mat, cargo net, sunroof, and Hurst short throw shifter. Now in terms of the short throw their are 3 top names that are arguably the best: Hurst, MGW, and Barton. This being said MGW is the only one of the 3 that is a complete replacement of the shifter, while the others are just the rod. Purchasing a Hurst shifter through your dealer (aka a GM Hurst) you will get the full shifter replacement as well. An aftermarket Hurst or Barton is just the stick. Personally, I did my research and went with the Hurst shifter and I can't wait til I can break it in. GM and Hurst redid the shifter:
Quote:
hurst aftermarket shifter, 44% reduction
Hurst /GM shifter 22% reduction and it is the entire shifter and not the upper and lower stick assemblies etc.
GM chose to go with a lower reduction in lieu of a smoother easier shift. All that being said, the stock shifter is in no way a piece of junk by any means. However, my father had an old cougar that had a short stick and I can tell you the difference between a stock shifter and the short throw is night and day.

I'd have to say money wise, getting the GM shifter is a wee bit of a rip off. Not a lot, but the usual dealer markup. You could probably go aftermarket with a Hurst or Barton shifter and save yourself some money. MGW will cost about the same because like I said before, it is a complete shifter replacement not just the stick.

Check this Thread for a break down of the GM Hurst Shifter

There was when i ordered and didn't want to get stuck in the production queue waiting for suppliers. Like i said in my original post, MGW is better IMO. GM has a long history of working directly with Hurst and they make great products. Personally, i was just a bit skeptical after reading several reviews of the people with aftermarket hurst shifters saying that there is play/mush in it between gates after some milage. Anal, yeah, probably. I'm sure the Hurst kit from the factory will be a great setup as well though.

The sunroof was a hard one to pass on though....you give up the reverse mohawk and some would argue stiffness...i couldn't give up on the mohawk.

As the Hurst shifter will be installed via Canada and is being sold as a GM option it will have the same warranty as the rest of the vehicle. Then specifically I believe Chevrolet has a 3 year/30,000 mile drivetrain warranty though don't quote me on that. Short answer is that it has the same warranty as the rest of the car.

I believe you are correct on that statement. I think that all GM factory options are warranted for the length of the factory warranty as they apply to drivetrain, etc. Though, i thought most car companies are like 5+ years on drivetrain.
