Rear suspension noise ?
i was reading the review on the camaro v6 by edmunds and i came across this
The only complaint we're willing to lodge after such a brief drive is that there's a whole bunch of noise coming from the rear suspension as it traipses over broken pavement. Houlihan says his team is considering a revised sound-deadening package for the rear, but, judging by the fact that he then launched into an explanation about keeping costs down, we're not sure it's likely to change. We, too, would want to spend money on performance before comfort and sophistication. But if this car is to be a thoroughly modern sport coupe that just happens to have retro cues, then it would seem money well spent. Quelling excessive noise, it seems to us, is one way to increase the perceived quality of the vehicle. We'll see on that one. |

psch it's probably just a pre production car that has like 200k miles on it already, i wouldn't be worried.

Yeah I think it was one of the camo ones they tested, which had insane mileage and was mechanically 99% complete. The IRS noise softening is probably in that 1% left that they are or maybe already have fixed.

i have 4th gen camaro and my friend have also all of them have a lettel sound from the suspension and the Rear Differential but i think it is ok everyone was complain about it.
but it was not like it make all that noise after all because chevrolet quality not that much on these thing but all that matter for me is what is under the hood the speed the sound how it looks and the t top its worth it. its like a monster on the streets and how much it cost i think none other car have what it takes to take the camaro down with the same cost range. |

I mean it probably was tested on a preproduction vehicle. Probably had a crap load of miles on it and there was some MINOR defect with the over used suspension.

Hell the tires could have been worn, when a Corvette's tires are near the end of their tread life the noise they transmit can drive you nuts.

I can say, without driving the car in the article, that Number 3 has no objectionable noises or sounds from the suspension. Super tight and solid all around. 7400 on the clock.

Sorry - just a random question because I changed the oil on my accent just a few days ago and the filter is a biatch to access in that car. Just wondering if I'll have the same problem with the V6 filter or if I'll be able to have some relief. Oh, and I wouldn't worry about the suspension noise much. Probably just overworked and definitely the IVER wouldn't have as much sound dampening. Plus - what Number 3 said. - Xanthos

Hopefully Edmunds and the mags will add some Camaros to their long term fleets and we can see how they hold up after a year. I'm not too concerned.
