If you has one in GA like this first one and then one in NV or CA then it would be alot closer for most of our members to go to.

I agree.. central east coast, Central west coast.

Columbus - You'd get Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Canton/Akron, Toledo all within a few hours. But of course I'm biased and would also vote for any of the cities I just mentioned. Also Jegs and Summit Racing are both out of Ohio so I'm sure they'd both want to contribute something.

Well, here's the thing, if they only want one per year, and last year it was in Georgia. Why not have the other a little closer to the west coast. You east coasters didn't mind it being in Georgia. Might lose a lot of east coast people, but would gain a heck of a lot more west coast guys.

A central location might seem "fair", but in reality, you'd probably lose more people that way, than you would by picking east or west. That's just IMO.

Again, Thanks for the effort. But this can sometimes cause confusion.

We rather our members let us know if you have a track in mind and let us run it down.

No problem! I did not represent myself as speaking for C5 Fest group. I just asked the question. I will forward you contact info for Chris. I know him presonally from my decades of drag racing. I can introduce who ever wants to negoiate for C5 Fest. I believe I mentioned it to a group of modiators at C5 Fest. Balls in your court. Like I said earlier best facility on the planet and probably no one can host like Vegas.

I have no issue with a Central location. I was the second farest away from Valdosta following up the El Diablo team from Fort St John BC CDN. A second trip to Valdosta is pretty much out of the realm of posibillity. Not to mention I would like to attend with my own Camaro and not a rental Maro from Avis.

No problem! Just lobbying for a location fair to all who have supported this site from day 1.

Statistically speaking, I would tend to believe that the density of Camaro's per square mile in the U.S. correlates to the density of people per square mile. There may be fluctuations in this by a couple percentage points, but on the whole I don't see this being very far off the mark.

Yeh, but that's off by a whole decade

One centrally located national event where everyone will be within a 2 day drive, somewhere (like Topeka) would fulfill that mission.

That puts it in a range such that the vast majority of Camaro5 members can make it. "Floating" national event are by definition regional. Witness the lack of California participants at C5Fest - it is just not feasible for them to attend. If next year it was out west there would be minimal east coast attendance.

Anyway, I would be roughly 1400 miles from a place like Topeka, but it is within driving distance. I am sure the mods have demographics of who attended C5Fest and other than wild people like El Diablo I will bet 95+% of people who attended were in the 2 day drive radius.

I would love Firebird in Phoenix, it is an incredible facility, but you'd probably lose 80 - 90% of the east coasters and Canada and it would split the Camaro5 members into regions. [See the attached population density map]

Camaro5 members are passionate about attending so I think that is how they are voting. We have beat this hard, but location is the single most important decision. Once the mods have made a choice, regardless of where it is, the Camaro5 members will do their best to support it. C5Fest 1 proved that.
Considering that the map is off by 2 decades, it's unknown what the population density looks like nowadays

Believe me most of us really wanted to participate. But, driving 3 days or more there, and back is crazy! Here's another thought for the road, how about during the summer!

Yep, don't forget them dedicated Northerners....Central FTW

Chris is a great guy. We had the pleasure of watching the Cup races in the owners box, with him a few months ago, when we sponsored one of his events. He is a huge gear head. Alot of people dont know this, but he also owns the rights to the Super Chevy Show (along with a few other tracks).

Being that were across the street from the track, on his property, we wouldnt mind being a presenting sponsor, or a shop host to the event. Let us know if we can help in any way.

But I agree, it seems the east cost guys always think the events should be on that side of the country. We have been forced to drive across the country for nearly every event. If anything, I think the next one should be in Texas...

Personally, I vote that the 2011 fest be held in Topeka. This has nothing to do with personal driving distance, because I'd gladly drive 1200 miles (again) to either coast. I just think a more central location is the most fair, and Topeka has a full road course instead of just an autocross in a parking lot. Just my .02 though.

But seriously, Topeka is 45 minutes from my house and I would love to have you all in my backyard!! If you haven't conatcted them already, I can put you in contact with the Track owners for Topeka if you need it. They also own a much much smaller "corn-field" track here in Manhattan.

Let me know what you need done, Mods.

Your argument that we should be satisfied with our own meets without calling it C5F is a selfish one. Even if the moderators decide to hold it on the East Coast, I highly doubt they would take that selfish reasoning into account.

We also have Eibach, Brembo, Magnaflow, Henessey, dozens of wheel companies and top designers and shops all in just the So Cal area. However, the purpose of Camaro5 Fest, or at least should be, is to pull as many of our group and cars together in one central area to celebrate, show off and shop. To do that the middle of the country is best. Kansas, sounds good as to not being so far for our Candian members as well. The first one was good or even great, lets make the second annual amazing. I know we would be pulling a might chain of Camaros from So Cal and by the iterests of our neighbors up North and Arizona, Nevada, they would be righ in tow.

To be honest there should be a poll for locations, SPECIFIC locations with what they have to offer, and then a vote should be made.

The only fair thing to do would be to either have it centrally located or have it on the west coast since the east coast already had their shot. It would be unfair to have it on the east coast two years in a row because you take the chance of alienating your west coast C5 contingency. I would have been there in a second this year had it been closer but I couldn't get the required time off work to make the 7 day round trip drive. I voted for the west coast but would me fine with it centrally located as well.

Data like this takes the emotion out of where to have it.

I would vote for Vegas.

As always... you cannot please all the people all the time....GA is to far for me.

Texas is a long haul as way but i might do Texas once.

The thing about Vegas is that you can make a full week out of it.

If I could vote?.....one year on the East cost....next year the West coast.

*shrug*
