After it's all said and done, you should be getting around 30mpg which is better than most cars on the road these days.

Going to pretend I didn't see anything of the sort mentioned above.

Imagine how much gas you can buy VS the cost of parts and labor to switch engines. I am sure it would'nt be extremely easy to do.
If you have a problem affording the gas for the V8,sell it and go buy the 6,you will be much better off in the end.

I'm in the same position as him

The automatics are becoming so good that the manuals won't really save you that much anymore. Leave it in D, not S. The SLS mercedes doesn't even have a manual and its a +500 HP car. But I have to agree that the manual is a lot of fun.

Back to the original post, I think the v6 is awesome! would I like to have v8 power? yes, but for $10,000 I think getting an LS and then customizing it, possibly twin turbo it, is a lot better. If it's twin turbo'd it will have around 425 to the wheels and keep the lightness of the v6 (and the gas milage) - for $6000. The 312 hp I have is plenty. I haven't driven an SS yet because I'm afraid I'll become addicted to that much power, though. Since I'm happy with my 312hp, no need to temp myself. And getting 28 MPG on a trip to the beach is nice too!

Honda guys remove their Honda badges and put all sorts of stickers on their cars to gain HP (and decrease mpg) so perhaps if you put Honda badges on your V8 Camaro, you will have the opposite effect?

i average 25-26mpg's in my 6er... but i bought an LS and keep plenty of money in the bank, this car is the best DD ever .... good luck with whatever you do with it, it sucks that you have to even think about getting rid of your car.

Both the V6 and V8 have their places and uses. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, it just all depends on what you want. I absolutely didn't need 400+hp in my car, much less pay thousands more for it and have to put in premium gas more often for it. So I bought a V6 and am happy with it in every way.

Now I can perfectly understand someone else might place more importance on the 100+ extra horsepower than thousands of dollars.

But it's kinda annoying to see a typical narrow-minded and ignorant V8 owner saying things like, "V6? What are you kidding?"

I respect anybody's decision to pay a little more for more available HP in their Camaro, but having to see how some of them just won't even try to accept that anything besides what they believe in is worth a crap makes me shake my head.

How far does one get in life with that kind of thinking? Why the need to scoff and trash anything that is not what you value? Are you having mental insecurity issues?

Some people need to grow up and stop being retarded.
