Just because it is at SEMA doesnt mean it will go into production.

If it does, expect high prices. Carbon Fiber, including painting it, is expensive and time consuming.

the carbon fiber looks like its just for SEMA, everything else could be made into a package.

generally speaking. with similar driving skills the 03/04 cobra should win. they are pushing out the same numbers stock to the wheels if not the cobra a little more and less weight.

Nothing yet on weight, but Autoblog says that the engine cranks out 524 hp.

No way would the put it just above a loaded SS. Removing stuff adds cost, as does a roll cage and everything else they've done to it. Figure 80k if they build it. And it would surely be a track use only care, odds are the engine wouldn't meet emissions standards.

Probably more targeted towards the Cobra Jet Mustang being that both cars are mostly track cars (NOT street legal)

Besides the carbon fibre, the SSX is pretty doable. Most of the stuff is off the shelf, or simply removed from the car. And GM is the only one that doesn't have some special track-only version of their pony car right now, this would fill that void. I'm not saying its a guaurentee, but I'd bet we will at least see something similar.

Remember SEMA 2009? The Dusk practically became the Neiman Marcus Camaro, and of course there was the Synergy Green car that GM brought.
GM just released the info and photo's on the new track pack Camaro SSX for 2011. Looks like GM was not sleeping at the wheel while they went thru their reorganization and seem to have an answer for fords mustang boss laguna seca model just released for 2012.

I think GM has the upper hand when it comes to these two offering, but i might be a little biased but that's JMHO. Who do you guys think would win at the track between these two offering?

I know GM has not released the hp rating for this model yet but i think a different cam and heads are part of the package.
Ahh, I'm glad to see someone was thinking along the same lines I was regarding the SSX. Hehehe....I'd love to see it in action and get some performance numbers for it. On first impression....I think it'll absolutely slaughter the Boss Mustang. But I'm biased, like you.

Well I say it will go to production, I highly doubt a well-known suspension company like Pfadt would come out and say that they are the exclusive suspension company on the build if it wasn't going to make production!

Oh sure they would. SEMA is all about getting your name out there. If your parts are on a high profile car, you get a ton of recognition for it.
