Couldn't one say the same about the 13.9x hero run with headers/intake/exhaust? There's no arguing the mustang is faster. When a bone stock mustang has run faster times than any bolt on camaros, even if you take driving into account, on average, the mustang will be faster. I'll quote him in saying, "do the math." The mustang puts down just as much power, is lighter, gets better traction, and has shorter gearing IIRC. Like I said, that doesn't mean a camaro can't win, but with equal drivers, stock for stock, the mustang is going to pull a few cars. Camaro freak, I highly doubt a cold air intake with no tune is going to give you 17hp. Injen advertising it doesn't make it true.

2010 v6 mustang vs 2010 v6 camaro = rape.

2010 mustang gt vs 2010 camaro ss = rape.

The v8s are closer and with an OK driver in the camaro and a fantastic driver in the mustang, the 1/4 could be close. Otherwise, it's not close. The v6 camaro will pull busses on the v6 mustang. There is a huge horsepower deficit in both cases. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves.

Injen didn't advertise it Jannetty Racing did a Independent test of all CAI's and the Injen CAI did in fact produce 17hp. Heres the thread, if you care to see it- http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96774
And to take your own words, just because Ford and the magazines advertise the Mustangs track times that don't make it TRUE.

Multiple 3.7 cars have run in the 13's bone stock. In fact, I have seen a 13.9@101 at lapeer dragway in Michigan, which IIRC is where scrming probably goes. That does make it true. Oh and technically, Jannety's thread says they saw 12hp gain at peak with the Injen in their nice little spreadsheet.

I have pretty good knowledge of both cars since I also owned a 08GT. My GT had a custom BamaChips tune with a C & L intake and Exhaust so its a safe bet it was putting out more power than the 10GT. I can tell you for sure that when my L99 was stock it would have crushed my modded GT if you put drag radials on both cars. Put a tune on the L99 that takes out trans torque management and the margin grows even further. The reason that you might see good times out of the GT is the fact that in totally stock form the car can hook at full throttle, even power stalled throttle on stock tires. The car has NO low end torque to speak of. All the power is past 4500 rpm so even a monkey could drive this car well in automatic form. You can just point it in the right direction power stall it and let off the brake and it just hooks and goes and you end up with a low to mid 13 second run. This is why the GT in stock form has good ET for its power disadvantage. It can put it all to the ground. However, make it where the SS hooks up well and its rape against the 2010 GT. This is true for both auto and manual. When looking at the fastest list for stock cars look at the trap speeds for both and you will see what I mean. The GT has very little left in it when it does low 13's and I bet it couldnt do much better with stock power even when changing suspension and tires.

If any 2005-2010 Mustang GT owner (with the same mods as me) disagrees I will be happy to show them first hand knowledge and schooling. (At the 1/4 track of course)

I have yet to see a 2011 V6 Mustang at Lapeer... maybe I'll see one this tomorrow:

And yeah, even the 12 HP gain at peak is a big stretch:

for me though it did at some nice low end torque!
