I guess it's like when a rival football team beats you and their fans say "We killed you guys"

As if they actually had anything to do with it. lol

The fun thing about it is a good rivalry. The Mustang is a great car. My Camaro is just way better.

And the cool thing is that they are so close, a simple bolt on or two makes up the difference.

Agreed with MikeSS... no argument, Mustang is faster. But that doesn't mean the Camaro is slow by any means. Plus, the camaro looks better imo lol. NO BIAS! =D

I'm sorry, I have to ignore the above because it was a quote from a goofy movie about would-be racers. j.k.

your are right though, they are both fast cars.. but the way some people look at is like that above quote.
I guess I'm just more put off by the trouble it causes and the lengths some goofballs will go to than I am about who's faster than who.

I agree. I just see it escalate to more than a friendly rivalry too many times...so I question the 'fun' in it when everyone seems so sensitive.

Don't get me wrong, there's still some fun conversations to be had -- and I've had'em. But it seems less like the old days where if you said something about your friend's Mustang, he punched you on the shoulder and you both laughed. Now he might try to claw your eyes out and you'd have to drive till you ran out of gas to get away!!!

You know what I'm talking about, right?

Oh ya.

I'm actually surprised this one has stayed civil-ish and stayed in this section.

Staying in this section was perhaps an oversight on our part...But unless it gets nasty, I'm just going to leave it for now.

That's not necessarily true. The L99 A6 consistantly outruns the LS3 M6 with average drivers behind the wheel. It isn't until you put a real skilled driver behind the wheel that the LS3 M6 shows its stuff.
At the first Camarofest, the L99 A6s (bone stock vs bone stock) consistantly ran faster times than the LS3 M6s.

This is due to the fact the L99 A6 is much easier to drive (and especially launch).

Come on man. You just changed the whole car. All things being equal and stock for stock, the new GT is a tad faster car. Throw some headers and a tune and fill the gap.
Im gonna have to agree but disagree with PQ on this one. The GT has an advantage but this is not the way to catch up with it. The mustang has a heap of rear end gears to choose from. For the epa testing they throw on a really tall gear to up the mileage and then for the 0-60 times they throw on a short rear end for better times.

GM PLEASE SEND US MORE REAR END GEARS FOR THIS CAR!!!

And by the way PQ... BOOMER

The fastest times have come from 3.15:1 equipped auto cars followed by 3.31:1 equipped manual cars. In practice, the taller geared cars have performed the best in the 1/4 because shifting into fifth before the 1320' mark doesn't help. The 3.73's are better for road racing, but not ideal for the 1/4 mile, at least not stock.

Hm...I bow to your experience.

I just suspected that because the 5.0 Autos dyno in the 360 RWHP range and are a good 200 pounds lighter than the L99's they would have an advantage in stock form.
