ZL1 will be both a work of art and a marvel of engineering, but it won't be unique. Since there will be many of like type, there is a part of the human psyche that will want to differentiate ourselves and hence our cars, which are extensions of ourselves. Call it the peacock factor. "Look at me." You could call it a basic drive. Personally, I'll only be modding things that will not affect the warranty for the first few years, that is unless the competition pulls a rabbit out of their horses backside. The equivalent year GT500 must die. That's all there is to that discussion as far as I'm concerned. Besides, what's wrong with mod'ing your own car if you want? Live & let live, man. Without the desire for progress, the aviation industry would have stopped at propellers, if you follow my logic. .

I really hope these are one of the features that make it to ZL1. This will be another good technology to fight off the snake from Dearborn.

The ZL1 wouldn't be likely to suffer from the issues the gtr had. An AWD launch is faaarrrr more abusive to stock components on street tires than any rwd launch. I'm wondering about the axles and suspension components in the zl1 and how well they will handle launching with a stickier tire though. The half shafts could be an issue with wheel hop. Also, I'm wondering what will happen with LC once the ecu is cracked, if it will be easy to alter values.

I remember reading a post about revised rear subframe bushings on certain '11 SS (probably V6 models, too) cars. I don't recall reading reviews or comments from said owners with the revised bushings (mostly because I don't know that they actually knew there were different bushings) so I wonder if these will be an improvement to control that cradle better. I'll tell you one thing. Probably the first mod' for me will be bushings from front to back, because I don't want to worry about soft OEM ones. I don't want to sacrifice much in the way of NVH, however, I'd rather control the rear and keep it together. I'm VERY interested in this patented rear end.
