![]() If most people like most people with Camaro's 550hp. ain't enough. I keep saying I'm done, and my performance installer just laugh at me and say, see you next month. I'm already asking about the high-ram intake from Holley, which they'll be testing in a few weeks on their shop SS. I love my shop, they're always on top of things. Quote:
It's obvious that GM has a business plan, and most of the time that plan doesn't include what the consumer wants 100% because you can't make everybody happy. So, those that are loyal ZL1'ers will be satisfied with whatever GM gives em' and others will be happy, but not satisfied. Believe me, when I got my SS after all they hype I was not satisfied at all, and started learning as much as I could to get my vehicle to do what I wanted it to do or should I say what I had "expected" it to do. Right on bro' for being straight up.

I've seen that intake and it looks SWEET! Are you going NA, or are your still going to use your Procharger? Do you have a build journal? I DO like your build

Opposition
I did, and yes, I will admit to being unsarcastic when I said it almost looks cool. In brutal truth, I like everything except the pony emblem.
My current 4 wheel vehicle is an old Dodge Stealth. The lines are very similar. I will consider this car a worthy opponent. .

And when the system was introduced to the ZR1 in 2010, the price only went up $2900 with the model year change. (A fraction of which I think is due to the price, personally) |

As for Holley Intake, I'm very, very excited a custom job like that is $2-3k. What I'm hoping for; Once the verdict is out is to see if I can parallel align my HP's with TQ at the low end, and increase the TQ in the process to be more of a plateau than an increase. ie - between 2500 - 4500 RPM. If I'm not mistaken it seems like this happens when stroking the engine. In my case because I don't have a roots style SC, I'll be able to take advantage of the high ram intake, and if I decide to stroke the engine later, it will provide that much more value. Thanks, for taking interest in my build, I'll get the log up soon. I promise. For now I just had some asthetics done today nothing big but looks a lot better than before and it's original. Take a look. Not directed at you or anyone in particular just saying if you don't like something or want to make it better take a chance and do it don't let the warranty et al stop you from doing it. Besides, warranties are for things that "break", in my mind it's not supposed to break and warranties are insurance, why do you need insurance if it's not supposed to break. Right? To me that says it all.

First, I believe that MR is only a $1695 option on the Corvette. That's for the shocks. And I'm not sure there is a lot of extra hardware involved to get to LC that isn't already on the car. Not arguing the price, but here is what it says:
Performance Traction Management is standard on ZR1. It manages acceleration out of turns via integration of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Traction Control and Active Handling systems. Launch Control is also standard with the short-throw manual gearbox. It modulates engine rpm to lay the power down more smoothly while providing consistent acceleration times on the test track. And BTW, if the 2014 Mustang rumors are correct, then Ford better have big plans for small coupes in Europe and Australia. RHD is not a cheap proposition by any means and would need significant volume to jutify it. Also, if they are going smaller yet, then it simply looks like they are going after a BMW 1 Series size car. I'm just not sure how you can go smaller in an already small car. Lighter sure ($$$$) but smaller? That's a tough one. And Ford does have a nice, inexpensive IRS on the Focus so we'll see. I can imagine that is priority one, but it also adds cost and mass. As I've mentioned, if this is the play for 2014 MY, then that means 2013 CY launch. So early chassis prototypes should be showing up pretty soon in "spy photos". Hey Dearborn members, any chopped up Mustangs with IRS running around? And for an all new underbody, they have to have more than Mustang on it. So it would have to replace the Falcon in Australia and provide a nice sedan as well as just the Mustang. They like sedans in Australia, but I don't think there has been a coupe market there. Rumors and specualtion are FUN.

Wow guys... All I can Wow! GM is gonna put PTM into ZL1. This is going to be a serious car. GT500 is going to have hard time (for a while) to stand against ZL1.
