[QUOTE=kmcd;3510710]Oh, I almost forgot. Here are the 315/35/20 NTO5Rs that finally carried me to victory over my upstart son. ]

after having to look up the word upstart, I resent that statement

Figured I'd post some pics of my widened wheels.

Had Weldcraft widen some stock rear wheels 1.5" for a total width of 10.5".

A little bit of paint to conceal the welds.

Still waiting for my 315 Invos to arrive. They're still backordered. My 275's are in and my 315 NT05R's are in.

They did some nice work, didn't they? I wish I could weld like that.

You're gonna' love those NTO5Rs at the track.

Edit: Don't forget to move your parking-brake cables. I learned the hard way. I thought they were going to clear, but I failed to account for the wheel weights when we balanced them. Had to use Gorilla tape to repair the chafing damage.

Just dropped the wheels off for powder coating yesterday, should be done tomorrow by the end of the day. Then it's off the Eric Vaughn's for widening. Has anyone widened fronts yet? Cuz that's what I plan on doing. If so what's the widest you can go on the front? I think I'm gonna try and do 11's on the back. Maybe 9.5 on the front? or 10s?

Seems to me it would be better to powdercoat after you widen them to conceal the welds. You could put the stock rears on the front which would give you 9" wheels on the front. Widen the stock front to 10.8 and run them on the rear with a 1" adapter. Yes, there is a little difference in the dish of the wheels, but I doubt anyone would ever notice. If you widen the stock fronts and keep them on the front, I imagine you'd have to run an adapter anyway to push them out some so they don't rub.

I powdercoated first based on what Eric Vaughn said. He said that when it gets powdercoated there is some flex to the wheel due to the heating and he can work with it better to make sure it's true etc if it's already been coated rather than have him do it and then coat it afterwards. He said someone did it the way you suggested and had a lot of problems. I'll probably just paint the insides after they are widened. I know what you are saying about the the putting the fronts in the back but I think the dish/concave would bother me. I'm not too worried about running an adapter anyways, I've got them on my M3 and haven't had any problems at all. I've talked to a few guys at performance shops that do racing as well and they race with adapters all the time. I'm not gonna be doing any drag racing anyways.

Has anyone ever heard of a hubcentric adapter failing? I haven't.

Nope, I haven't. Only thing is, I think the minimum width you can get is about an inch which I believe would push the stock rear wheels past the fender. I actually have some 1" hubcentric adapters that I bought for my Trans Am, but didn't end up using. If the lug spacing is the same, I could put one on the Camaro and see how it looks.

Eibach makes some that are 15 mm (a little more than 1/2 inch). If you do mount the 1-inch adapters, be sure to post up some pics so we can see what they look like.
