Does a X pipe sound better than Straight pipes?

Im wondering about this.. My current set up is: 3in Piping all the way straight thru ending with Flowmaster 10s.

What I might end up doing: Cutting mufflers, and adding Magnaflow's Xpipe and Solo high flow cats (later on)

Thoughts?

I've heard they do but I prefer true duals. No X or H bs.

They do sound better with an x. It helps reduce the popping when you let off the gas as well.

The x pipe also helps to excavate the exhaust as it creates a siphon effect to help pull the exhaust from the other side.

X and H are good for balance and you can also pick up power by the first exhaust pulse pulling the second thru the X...

Go with longtubes, and a Dynomax bullet system...I have it on my car. It has an X pipe, and pops plenty when I lift.

love popping, but to each his own. most exhausts sound incredible on this car. I may go with an x-pipe in the future to see how it counds, but LTs and an exhuast provide plenty growl for now

Deeboe – The term “better” is different for everyone. Did you ever post video of how your current system sounds? If you post a video and tell the forum what you’re trying to change and how much money you’re willing to spend… we can give much more qualified advice on how to change the sound to what you’re looking for.

Got dual straight pipes into flowmasters on the tbird, no h or x pipe. For the camaro the catback kit. I'm curious what the difference in performance of straight vs crosspipe would be on the camaro.
Im always getting compliments on the sound though. Love it! From the screaming shifts to the symphonic deceleration.

Understood, and agree. I will post pics 2morrow, to be honest I just want my SS to sound DEEP! way DEEP! Dont get me wrong it sounds good now IMO just wish it was deeper, There are offset mufflers also, and not the center ones. (maybe that's something) What are the deepest sounding muffler FM makes? 44 series?
