exactly what I did and was left with a dent there as well. You dented it, not bent it. Don't worry about it.

I've used those four red circled points to lift my car when swapping summer to winter tires and back again. Now in the third winter (of my discontent) and these lift points have never been a problem nor caused any damage.

Which cross member do I use, the first one from the front or second one from the front?

Use Race Ramps, they have a 3 inch stop on the end, damn near impossible to drive over, even if you do it alone.

Yup this happened to me too! Now I don't use either of those points to jack the car up. If you do, then use a hockey puck between the jack and the cross member.

I don't think those are the right jack positions. I jack from here and always use 5/8" plywood and have never had problem.

I also jack from this area using 3/4" plywood and have never had a problem.

The best thing I found for protection from jacks/jack stands are old semi retreads. The ones they throw off going down the road and leave on the side of the road, cut a big square out of it and set it on top of the jack/jack stand and it protects everything.

Best part is its free.
