I am trying to show that it can run pretty good times according to our own guys times.
Well, neither is slow. Camaros or Mustangs. They both run good times no doubt.

My only point is that if you could get equal launches with equal drivers and identical run factors, the 2011 GTs would win. Not by a lot, but they would. Doesn't bother me at all. Both are awesome cars. Me? I'm a Camaro and Chevy guy. I bag on the Mustangs every chance I get.

I agree Randy. Both are fast.

I just get tired of everyone thinking the Mustang is the absolute in speed. Depends on the day, the driver, the mods, etc.

Hell I went back to the same track 2 weeks after the first time ever going down the 1/4 mile in a car (been many times on a sled), I dropped from a best of 14.024 to a 13.783. The only thing different was I lowered my tire PSI some more and ran a 1/4 tank of gas instead of a full tank. The DA was similar on both days. Just goes to show you that anyone can run differently from run to run.

I use to be a Ford guy. Grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. My Dad worked at the Rouge plant where they built the big engines of the day. 427, 428 and 429. So, I was a Mustang guy growing up.

Then I got a job at GM in 1985, 25 years later I am still there.

Love the new Camaro.

If the race had been between the 5.0 and a L99 SS...it would have been even worse.

I just love racing Rustangs! Have yet too lose, GT500's. 5.0's they all fall behind.
There isone exception, an older Foxbody Cobra, supercharged and running Meth, He can get me by about 3/10th's but he is also running full bias slicks, I am on DR's.

Indeed, I saw those wheels you have That is one nice set-up. You wouldn't want those here in Michigan. That low profile would beat you to death on our roads.

No, because you have added a nice Christmas present to your Camaro, or at least you are working on adding it, aren't you.

I've seen three new 5.0 Mustangs at the track. One was a stick with drag radials, tune, intake and catback, ran 12.11. One was an auto with 4.10 gears, intake, tune, converter and headers, on 20's with a very quiet exhaust run a high 11 after a few low, low 12's. And one was a bone stock auto, that base lined at a 12.7?, with two guys starting to tune it with a hand held tuner, next run was a 12.5?, didn't see what they got the times down to. On that same day, an intake, tune, exhaust auto Camaro SS ran a best of 13.2?, with most of the runs being in the mid/high 13's, and a tune and intake Camaro SS that couldn't get below 13.5. Disgusting for the SS clowns, because my slowest run of the day was a 13.18, with a best being the 13.08 in my sig.

The AUTO 5.0 Mustang seems to be consistently faster than the manual 5.0 (and a manual SS), no matter how good the driver is. A better race would be a manual 5.0 VS a manual SS.

I'm continually amazed at the value some people put on being even a single tenth faster than one another, and bagging on the loser like it was a turtle.

There is....MUCH more to the car than who's faster, and both are extremely fast to begin with!!
