I don't know how the lemon law works. I was basing that off of the fact that the OP has already got a lawyer involved. If the coices are persue the lemon law, or let the dealer KNOW you are, it may just be better to do the latter. But I guess your right, if the dealer isn't the lemon law target but GM is, then it may not matter.

I'm trying to figure out how a blown engine and a leaky A/C compressor deems a vehicle as a lemon? I mean seriously, this is nuts.

Because no car should have these problems in 16,000 miles.

If it was major problem such as a blown engine, etc. then my rule is 3 strikes and your out. I've worked in law offices for 26 years and seen all kinds of crap like this and, believe me, there can be a lot more to it than what he's experiencing now. Everyones opinon should be respected, but bottom line is it's up to the owner to do what he wants to do.

Hope it works out for you.

Exactly what I was thinking...I would stock that s--- away for a long time. I would wait until you get your NEXT car...

What happened to the engine? I realize it was "blown" but what was the failure? Is it a 3.6? I rebuilt a 3.6 in a Cadillac SRX about 6 months ago. Complete engines were not available. We had to get a short block and build everything. Heads came bare and needed to be assemblied. If your dealer put a complete engine in or one that may have been pulled from the assembly line I could believe it taking that long.

I just had the A/C compressor replaced on my 2010 2SS. It hadn't started leaking yet, but it didn't cool like it should.
Good luck with the car. Hope you don't have to go the lemon law route.

It threw a bearing at 9,000 miles. 3.6 LLT, they had to rebuilt like everything. It took so long to rebuild because the parts took forever to get apparently.
