A blend of old and new – 1969 hood inserts on 2010 Camaro SS hood

Here’s an interesting mod we hadn’t thought of. Forum member jamesfl decided to blend a little bit of old with a lot of new in installing the hood inserts from his 1968 Camaro SS onto his 2010 Camaro SS hood. Not only does this achieve the look James wants, but it should also prove to be a functional modification by allowing hot air to escape from under the hood, thus dropping engine bay temperature. It may also result in some increased engine/intake orchestra being able to be heard from outside the car. The 1969 hood inserts were powdercoated black and some cutting and drilling of the 2010 Camaro SS hood was required for the install.
