One of the icons of the original SCCA Trans Am series was the distinctive Blue and Yellow 1969 Camaro Z28 entered by Roger Penske and driven by the brilliant Mark Donohue, who dominated on the way to winning that year?s Trans Am championship. It was no surprise then when General Motors? High Performance Vehicle Operations and Chevrolet Division together drew on that historical heritage to create this Camaro prototype race car. Built by Milford Proving Ground technicians in GM?s famed Building 27 in 2008 and tested at the Milford Proving Ground, the car made its debut at the 2008 SEMA show as one of four featured Chevrolet concept vehicles… more details.
