The factory GMPP Hurst shifter option has so far been unavailable from GM, and likely won’t be available until the third quarter of this year or first quarter of 2010. However, member 2SSRS wasn’t happy waiting that long and jumped at the opportunity to have Hurst use his Camaro as a test fit car for their shifter kit.
The shifter you see fitted HERE is Hurst’s prototype shifter developed from 2SSRS’ car. Although it is the same height as the stock shifter, it has reduced shift travel by nearly 50% from the factory shifter, as well as providing a more “positive” shift feeling. The shifter was installed without dropping the transmission.
