Many of our members visit site for discussions on making their Camaros perform better. Most often discussed are power upgrades such as cold air intakes, tunes, headers, exhausts, and forced induction.
However, an often overlooked method of increasing performance (both straight-line and handling) is to reduce weight. Weight reduction also generally has the extra benefit of better handling, which the addition of power alone does not provide. The usual candidates for weight reduction include:
Lighter wheels/tires
Spare tire
Back seats
Factory exhaust system
Have you undertaken any of these weight saving measures or perhaps something even more extreme? How much weight have you saved? Share your results or ideas HERE.
