All indications are that the Camaro will outsell the Mustang for 2010, for the first time since 1985. And Ford is effectively conceding this, although they don’t seem too bothered (or give the appearance of such). According to Ford sales analyst George Pipas, “If that was important, we wouldn’t have taken a shift off at Flat Rock” which is where the plant that assembles the Mustang is located.
This sets up another interesting sales race and makes things even tougher for Ford in 2011 and 2012 as GM will be introducing the Camaro convertible and Z28 models.
