At One Year, Camaro Leads U.S. Sports Car Segment and Wins New Chevrolet Customers
Posted by: admin In: Main ()
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was the best-selling sports car in the U.S. for its first full year of sales. The Camaro revival has been nothing short of a complete runaway commercial success for General Motors, with 99,872 Camaros sold in just one year’s time (from the start of production in May 2009 to May 2010). This figure would be impressive enough by itself, but such sales were able to be accomplished partially during a downturned economy and period of dismal auto sales, as well as outselling its closest competitor by almost 20,000 vehicles! The 2010 Camaro managed to lead the sports car sales race for 11 of the last 12 months.
GM hopes to continue the Camaro’s torrid sales pace with the 2011 Camaro (now on sale) and hopes to accomplish this by keeping prices more or less the same as the outgoing 2010 models (See recent 2011 pricing announcement). Furthermore, Camaro sales abroad are expected to grow significantly, as GM pushes it into its other large markets, including Brazil, China, Russia, and Europe.
See HERE for more details and release on this impressive feat.
