GM’s OnStar iPhone and Android application has now debuted. This OnStar mobile iPhone application will provide Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC owners the ability to remote start, lock/unlock doors, and receive important vehicle information from anywhere they have their phone. GM gave the example of someone at the airport who is plagued by doubts about whether he remembered to lock the car. Or someone attending a baseball game on a hot day who wants to start her car so that it will be cooled by the time she’s ready to leave.
The vehicle information that will be available via iPhone are things such as fuel level, available driving range, oil level, tire pressure and other diagnostic information.
This application will only work with 2011 model years and beyond.
