Camaro SS impresses in Car and Driver’s 2009 Lightning Lap shootout
Posted by: admin In: Main ()
Car and Driver conducts an annual “Lightning Lap” competition at the Virginia International Raceway in which it stacks some of today’s best sports cars/sedans against one another. The 2009 shootout was held on the Grand West Course which is 4.1 miles of straights, slow and high speed corners, uphill, and eases.
The 2010 Camaro SS placed 14th overall on the list with a 3:09.5 second lap, beating out other impressive cars such as the Audi S4, Nissan Nismo 370z, Ford Mustang GT, Genesis Coupe 3.8, Subaru WRX, and others. What’s also impressive is that every mass production car lapping faster than the Camaro also had a higher MSRP, which means that the Camaro SS was the best performance-to-cost car in this comparison! See HERE for the full overall results list.
Car and Driver does not yet have its complete writeup on its website, but we will bring that to you when it becomes available.
