In short, the launch control system is a computer aided mode which assists the driver achieve the quickest launch possible. The system prevents bogging or overspinning the tires, both which slow launch times. Approximately 100 times per second the launch control system will determine the slip of the wheels and make constant adjustments of engine torque to optimize the launch.
