Camaro5 Fest V [details] kicks off this week – beginning Thursday through the weekend, and while Scott Settlemire (Fbodfather) will not be able to join us this year, he will be there with us in spirit.

GM director of exterior design for performance cars Tom Peters stopped by the Motor Trend headquarters recently ahead of the Chevrolet Camaro event this past weekend at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. [Read interview].
Peters, who designed the current-generation Camaro, the C6 Chevrolet Corvette, and even the Pontiac Aztek, brought a 2014 Camaro Z/28, Camaro 1LE, and Camaro SS Spring Special Edition, as well as his cherry 1969 Camaro ZL-1 clone, and to answer a few questions.

Come to the Petersen on April 26 and see Chevrolet?s new 505 horsepower Camaro Z/28, meet its designer, Tom Peters, and enjoy a Camaros and Corvettes cruise-in! Cruise-in starts at 9:00 am, and includes free parking for any year Corvette or Camaro. Interview begins at 11:00 am, and will be followed by an autograph session. GM has announced, in an effort to prevent Z/28 cloning, approximately 40 specific Z/28 parts will be restricted:
With the launch of the new Camaro Z/28, approximately 40 different Z/28 specific parts will be placed on restriction. This action is being taken to protect the vehicle’s brand and customer’s investment by preventing the “cloning” of the Z/28.
Dealers will be required to obtain specific vehicle & owner information before any parts order request can begin.

Each and every example of the 2014 Camaro Z/28 has been spoken for according to Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser. The 2015 Camaro Z/28 will be available for order in the next four to six weeks.
