Going back as far as 2008, there have been rumors of a possible turbo 4 cylinder engine for the current Camaro. Even Bob Lutz, who was then the Vice Chairman of GM, alluded to the possibility for the 5th Gen Camaro at the time.
In the years since, the possibility of a turbo 4 cylinder for the next 6th gen Camaro has not only been floated as rumors, but also accepted as a very real possibility, especially as other auto companies have piled on to the forced induction bandwagon in an effort to increase fuel efficiency in the face of ever increasing MPG requirements.
GM Authority now claims that ‘sources’ (unnamed) have confirmed to them plans for a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder for the 6th gen Camaro. The next Camaro is likely not due for 2-4 years, and will switch from its current Zeta platform to the smaller and lighter Alpha platform. The offering of a smaller/lighter and more efficient engine option for a smaller/lighter Camaro certainly makes sense.
High displacement fans shouldn’t fret though, as the addition of a turbo 4 option doesn’t mean that there will not also be V6 and V8 models, which we expect there to be.

18 Camaros recently had a rendez-vous on the Normandy D-Day beach landings location for a Camaro owner’s meet.
The trip started with a road trip from Bayeux to Omaha Beach and his monument, to Pointe du Hoc. For the French owners of Camaros, it was a way to spend some good time together, to remember history and to honor all those who perished during the Normandy landings.

The attendance last year was the highest ever recorded at a Camaro Fest. And with over 1000 Camaros joining us throughout the weekend, we reached an enthusiast milestone as well!

Audiovox has enlisted Wimmer RS to create a bespoke Chevrolet Camaro to promote the company’s Magnat audio systems.
Looking bold and aggressive, the one-off model has a two-tone exterior with a ground effects package and 22-inch Oxigin wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan Sport tires. The coupe has also been equipped with a 4400 watt Magnat audio system that has digital amplifiers and two 30cm subwoofers.
For added performance, the 6.2-liter V8 engine was outfitted with a revised ECU, an optimized air intake and a stainless steel sports exhaust system. Thanks to these tweaks, the engine produces 451 HP (332 kW) and 596 Nm (439 lb-ft) of torque which enables the car to hit a top speed of 274 km/h (170 mph).

The Camaro feels at home on all types of tracks – whether it’s a dragstrip or a racetrack like the Buttonwillo Race Way in California. And that’s exactly where some of our Californian members took their Camaros for their 3rd annual meet at Buttonwillow, followed by a BBQ and dealership meet and greet.
