The folks at Rodgers Chevrolet have been wanting to do this for years and it’s finally come to fruition – as the Rodgers Performance Option – RPO. Unveiled on this 1LE Camaro, the RPO is ready as is or is the foundation for a more radical build. Wheels, tires, CAI, Headers, Suspension, Tune and custom graphics

The 2012 Camaro5 Fest III doesn’t officially kick off until tomorrow (Thurs.) night with the opening cruise, but the host hotel parking lot is already beginning to see the first attendees arriving with their Camaros.
Some of the first photos are now in from the early arrivers. We can’t wait to see the photos start flooding in as the many caravans from across the country begin arriving in Indianapolis!

On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited [video], David Freiburger meets up with Pro Touring legend Mark Stielow to compare old and new Camaros head to head. Mark Stielow is a GM engineer with a long history of building vintage, street-worthy Camaros with amazing handling prowess.
His latest is the Red Devil, a ’69 model powered by a 427ci, supercharged LS9 that tops 750 hp and 800 lb-ft. It runs a six-speed trans and complete suspension from Detroit Speed, and has won a number of shootouts with similarly built Pro Touring cars. But can his modified muscle car outrun the technology of the Magnetic Ride suspension on the new, 580hp, 2012 Camaro ZL1? Find out inside.

The 2013 road-racing inspired Chevrolet Camaro 1LE, with Camaro engineer Aaron Link behind the wheel, lapped the famed Virginia International Raceway (VIR) Grand Course in 2:58.34 [watch the run on video], a time previously accomplished by only the upper echelon of performance cars. To break a three-minute lap on the four-mile Grand Course is an incredible accomplishment for any car.
The 1LE driven was a production-spec Camaro SS with the 1LE package, modified with only a race seat and roll cage for safety. The 1LE proved to be track-capable, even with temperatures approaching 90 degrees in the early-morning test session.

At an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday, Chevrolet Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser officially revealed pricing information for the new ZL1 Convertible and 1LE Coupe.
The droptop ZL1 will start at $60,445, and the Camaro 1LE will sticker for $37,035. Both prices include a $900 destination charge.

Chevrolet will have a new entry in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2013: Camaro, the top-selling sports car in America, will make its series debut next February at Daytona International Speedway.
Chevrolet is proud to bring the Camaro to the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2013, said Jim Campbell, vice president, Chevrolet Performance Vehicles and Motorsports.
