GM held its 2011 Camaro Convertible Drive-Away Parade and Media Event in Houston this past weekend. 10 Camaros from the H-Town Camaro Club were invited to the actual event. These 10 Camaros and 25 Camaro Convertibles paraded from Galveston to Kemah, with police escort, to celebrate the arrival of the new Camaro Convertible.
All our Houston members were then invited to bring their Camaros and join the original group at Landrys on the Kemah Boardwalk. Many members showed up, and the entire group then caravanned to Ellington Field for Aeros and Autos and then the West Houston Muscle street meet to close out the day. [All EVENT PHOTOS INSIDE]

The Camaro ZL1 prototype was shown at our recent Camaro5Fest II event, where we not only got a look at the range topping Camaro, but also its impressive sounds.
In this video, we were able to record perhaps the best Camaro ZL1 exhaust sound clip yet – up to 4-5,000 RPMs. In short, it’s a hair raising sound. And we can only imagine (and dream) what the ZL1 sounds like at even higher RPMs!

The 2011 Camaro Synergy Series — is now available for ordering (Brochure / Hero Card INSIDE)
Introduced at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas,
the 2011 Camaro Synergy Series is the perfect
combination of factory installed options and dealer installed accessories
The 2011 Camaro Synergy Series is available in either
coupe or convertible body styles with 2LT or 2SS trim levels, and requires
RS Exterior Appearance Package (RPO: WRS).
The package is limited to Gray leather-appointed interior and
Victory Red, Summit White or Black exterior colors.
There are two option levels for this package:
Level one (RPO: AJA) includes the content listed on the attached hero card
except the 21” wheels and tires. The MSRP for this option package level is
$4995, plus the model and other option prices, and destination charges (but
excluding tax, title and other fees).
Level two (RPO: AJB) includes the content listed on the attached hero card
AND the dealer-installed 21” wheels and tires. The MSRP for this option
package level is $9995, plus the model and other option prices, and
destination charges (but excluding tax, title and other fees).
Production is limited to a total of 500 units for the 2011 model run
Production of these units is expected to occur during June, 2011.

Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC has announced its 2011 Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Camaro series [PHOTOS and VIDEO Inside].
Why is it called the Intimidator? Because it’s powered by a supercharged V8 pumping out 704hp and 695 lbs-ft of torque at 11psi boost. Also adding to its performance is a highly modified suspension, chassis, exhaust system, brakes and fuel system. On the surface, the Intimidator Camaro features cues from the race cars that Dale Earnhardt used during his career – racing inspired, aluminum blade spoiler with support braces and a more modern racing splitter with support braces for improved downforce.

Transformers 3 will hit the big screen on July 1 and the best trailer yet has hit the internet. Check out the newest T3 trailer INSIDE, which provides some great action from the upcoming movie, as well as some appearances from our favorite autobot – Bumblebee.

Talk about a flashy Camaro, literally! Vinyl wraps have been all the rage in the aftermarket, allowing car owners to change up their car’s color completely and unlimited times, but also 100% reversible.
We’ve already see some of our own site members with some creative color overhauls of their Camaros, but none as radical as this chrome Camaro, by a Czech company called Tintek [view VIDEO HERE]. This car may not be your taste (it’s certainly not ours), but like us, you probably cannot look away… that is until its blinding reflections force you to blink.
Tintek says the Camaro is the first chrome application of this kind in the Czech Republic, as the effect is not obtained by painting the car but by applying a special 3-D foil over the original paintwork. They also offer the chrome effect in gold, black, green, blue, orange, red and violet. Gah!

Spouses and retirees included in honor of U.S. Military Appreciation Month
DETROIT – Chevrolet will honor National Military Appreciation Month by expanding the industry-leading GM Military Discount to military spouses and retirees; offering an exclusive “Honor” badge to anyone who buys an eligible Chevrolet through the program, and by donating $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers for each eligible vehicle sold with a military discount.
“We are committed to offering military professionals and their family members the best value in the industry,” said Dan Akerson, General Motors Chairman and CEO. “As a former Navy man, I hold the highest regard for the men and women of our Armed Forces – past and present – who help keep our country safe and preserve our precious liberties.”
During May, the GM Military Discount program – already recognized as the best program in the industry – will be extended to spouses of Active and Reserve members, as well as retirees, of
the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard. The discount is available on most Chevrolet, Buick and GMC models with discounts typically ranging between $500 and $4,000 off the suggested retail price of the vehicle purchased.
In addition, the GM Military Discount offers an a $750 discount unselected Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles to eligible members of USAA, a financial services provider for the military community.
In 2010 alone, the GM Military Discount program provided more than 70,000 discounts to military personnel and their families with a cumulative value of more than $60 million.
For every person who purchases, leases or orders a new Chevrolet using the GM Military Discount in May, Chevrolet will provide an exclusive set of “Honor” vehicle badges as well as contributing $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit group that provides free communication tools to troops serving overseas.
Since May 2010, Chevrolet and its dealers have collected more than 50,000 cell phones. Since the program began, proceeds from phone collections have provided more than 114 million minutes – or more than 200 years – of free calls home for U.S. troops.
At the customer’s request, dealers will install the badges on their new Chevrolet at no additional charge. The badge features a yellow ribbon and “Honor” script, a subtle recognition of their service.
The Military Appreciation Month program will conclude with 99 “Honor & Valor” Limited Edition 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS vehicles, which will debut during the Indianapolis 500 military personnel parade on May 28. The limited-edition Camaro will be available to order through www.gmmilitarydiscount.com, beginning in May.
With only 100 available, these red, white or black painted vehicles feature a limited-edition Honor Badge, license plate bracket, heritage grille, side stripes, premium floor mats, painted ground effects, and one year of XM Radio(1).
