The Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series / Nascar Nationwide Series doubleheader racing event took place this past weekend at Road America, the 4-mile road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. A site member brings us a great set of PHOTOS from the event.
Two white Camaros were used to pace the Grand Am race. Both were used during the opening pace laps while the one with the camera gear and antennas was used during the race for the caution laps. The Nascar race was paced by two red Camaros. Both were used on the opening pace laps and one of them was also used for the caution laps during the race.
Several Camaro teams participated in the GT division of the Grand Am event and many Camaros were on display throughout the race paddock.

Vinyl wraps are all the rage these days and they’re not just limited to colors, but may also feature any graphics one can think of. This Camaro participated in the recent GoldRush Rally not in its native yellow color, but in a creative Tron themed wrap. It looked particularly good in a darker setting when most of the car disappears into the dark while the lighter colored blue circuitry remained conspicuous.

Mustang and Camaro. These two flag-waving, tire-shredding, all-American musclecars have met countless times on the street, the strip, the track, the newsstand, and the Internet over the past four and a half decades. Enthusiasts willing, they’ll continue to do battle for decades to come. For the moment, though, it comes down to this.
Motortrend recently set out to determine which of these two titans — arguably the greatest cars of their lineage — is the better car. They took the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 and to the street, the dragstrip, and the racetrack. In each venue, the two heavyweights squared off, and where each corner may have expected a knockout, they were treated to a true competition far closer than they expected. Review INSIDE.
