Rick Hendrick, owner of NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports and chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group, built the engine for his 2012 COPO Camaro at General Motors’ Performance Build Center today, as part of Chevrolet’s series of customer engine build experiences.

In 2011, Hendrick also took part in Chevrolet’s Corvette engine build experience.

“Last year’s Corvette engine build was such a memorable experience that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do it again with a COPO Camaro. As a Chevy enthusiast and collector, it’s a real privilege to do something like this,” Hendrick said. “I want to thank everyone at the Performance Build Center for having me back. It means so much to spend time with people who share my passion for cars and work so hard to produce some of the best engines in the world.”… Continued HERE.

The New England Camaro5 club picked up their 3rd straight Best Club Participation award at the Rhode Island Chevy Owners Association All Chevy Show this past weekend.

With 50 fifth Gen Camaros from all over New England, the club prompted the show to create two new classes just for 2010+ Camaros – stock and modified.

The group began their day meeting at a local mall about 20 minutes from the show. They gathered for a creative group photo – with all the Camaros lined up in the shape of the Camaro5 logo! Check out more photos inside.

Camaro Performers Magazine takes their crack at rendering and speculating on how the 6th generation 2015 Camaro may be styled.

They believe the 6th gen will remain first-gen themed but less chiseled and raw (as seen in the render), with smoother but more muscular surfaces and fenders. Of course, with the next gen Camaro switching to the Alpha platform, it’s expected to be smaller, lighter, and of course faster.

Keep in mind that the renders are completely speculative and imaginative. But, still fun to see and discuss.

Chevy has released some more official images of the 2013 Camaro 1LE, a Camaro with its “1LE” road-racing inspired performance package.

The COPO Camaro is back at Chevrolet, designed to the specifications for NHRA Stock Eliminator drag racing competition. It’s been designed to accommodate more than one engine option, including a naturally aspirated 427 engine (7.0L) – the same displacement as the original COPO Camaros from 1969 – and a supercharged 327 (5.3L) engine. Among the many racing-specific features and equipment is a conversion from the Camaro’s standard independent rear axle to a solid axle, as well as a full chrome moly roll cage.
