Chevrolet hosted a Camaro Get Together for Camaro enthusiats at the Chicago Auto show this morning. A breakfast and tour of the Chevrolet exhibit was provided and some members of the Camaro team were on hand for a Q&A session regarding the Camaro and in particular, the Camaro ZL1.

A Camaro5 moderator was on hand to snap photos, record Al Oppenheiser’s presentation of the ZL1, and to bring us some interesting questions and answers regarding Camaros and Camaro ZL1. <Posted HERE>

This is the first Camaro ZL1 promotional video clip and the video which was played at the Camaro ZL1 press conference at the Chicago Autoshow, right as the ZL1 was officially introduced onto stage.

Let the Camaro ZL1 pricing rumormill begin! Now that the ZL1 has been announced, the desire for the car expressed on our forums is nothing short of amazing. Once launched, the ZL1 will represent the ultimate 5th gen Camaro factory performance and looks, but what what cost? That will be one of the most discussed aspects of this range-topping Camaro between now and when official pricing is released.

However, Car and Drive now claims that they have learned the Camaro ZL1 base price to start at $47,000. If true, in our opinion, this would make the ZL1 one of the best bargains available in any performance car segment. But, we will take any speculation right now with many grains of salt, considering that the car has just been announced within the last 48 hours and pricing was said to be forthcoming at a later time.

In any case, ZL1 pricing discussions makes for some fun speculation and imagination, so be sure to keep up to date with the latest ZL1 facts, rumors, discussions, and speculations at our Camaro ZL1 Forums.

Chevrolet Unveils at Chicago Autoshow

The Chevrolet press conference at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show takes place tomorrow AM. Exactly what we’ll see introduced remains to be seen, but we do know that there will be no less than two Chevrolet models debuted, one being a “Camaro-based vehicle.” Be sure to stay tuned to our site on Wednesday for coverage of all that’s unveiled.

The 2011 V6 Camaro will be gaining a new trim level and +1 MPG rating [details].

The Camaro LS with automatic transmission is now designated 2LS. The 2LS package includes rear spoiler, 2.92 rear axle ratio, and standard 18″ LS steel wheels. The 2LS model is designated as achieveing 30 MPG highway. MSRP: $24,700.

1LS cars will be now be available only with manual transmission.
