According to SEMA officials, the Chevy Camaro is currently in the lead for the "hottest" car at the 2010 SEMA show, leading the Mustang and the Challenger by a significant margin, based on votes submitted through SEMA’s website. The inaugural SEMA hot vehicle awards will be handed out during the show in early November.

It has now been announced to Chevy dealers that the 2011 Camaro Convertible is expected to begin arriving in dealerships in March 2011.

This is consistent with our previously posted Camaro Convertible order and release schedule, which puts the Camaro Convertible’s start of production and pricing announcement sometime in the January 2011 to March 2011 period.

The 2011 Camaro Convertible will make its world public debut at the 2010 LA Autoshow next month.

On Saturday October 23, thirty-four 5th Gen Camaros, three 1st Gen Camaros, and two Corvettes “Packed the Pub” at Johnny O’Quigley’s in Destin, FL, followed by a cruise in the surrounding areas. According to GMAuthority, the Camaro SS is set to receive a power bump. Their sources are indicating that more power will be coming to both the LS3 and L99 Camaro SS.

The power bump is said to be a reaction by GM to the new Mustang 5.0′s quicker quarter mile time. No exact power increase numbers were quoted or provided, but the increase in power would begin with the 2012 Camaros.

This would make the second major change coming to the 2012 Camaros, in addition to the expected revamped and improved interior.

CBS’ 60 Minutes will be airing a segment on the much acclaimed BBC show Top Gear and its silent professional test driver The Stig.

During the upcoming piece, which broadcasts on October 24th at 7pm ET, the host Steve Kroft attempts to get The Stig to break his silence during a wild ride. The ride? An IOM Camaro!

The 2011 Camaro was officially launched in Colombia yesterday. And ex-Stig, Ben Collins, was spotted hooning [videos] in a Hennessey Camaro. How did this come about?

Well, the person importing GM products to Colombia also happens to be an authorized dealer for Hennessey products. Collins was invited to the debut event and thrilled the crowd with some serious donuts in a Hennessey HPE650 at the Autódromo de Tocancipá in Colombia.

Drop Top Customs has released its 2010 Chevy Camaro T-Top Kit, which will debut at 2010 SEMA next month.

The T-top kit features undercarriage reinforcement to bolster the loss of rigidity from the cut roof. They claim that flex is not an issue with the kit. The conversion will retail for $6,500. [More photos inside]

GM will be releasing some special Camaros (in addition to Corvettes and trucks) at SEMA and this teaser video gives a taste of what we should expect. Two designers discuss their efforts while we get flashes and glimpses of the various Camaros that will take center stage at GM’s SEMA display. It appears that there will be at least 3-4 special Camaros making their debut at SEMA. Video inside.

What’s most interesting to us about these trailers is that a Camaro5 member’s Camaro (belonging to gotpball44 – story here) is featured prominently in the commercial spot, tearing up the El Mirage Lake, a dry lake bed in the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, California.
